Arizona Mortgage Guru Blog Sold to Bank of America

For Immediate Release

Apri 1, 2010

Gilbert, Arizona – Tentative agreement has been reached between Mr. Author, founder and owner of the widely read Arizona Mortgage Guru blog and Bank of America, for the sale of the blog for a reported $1.2 million valuation.

In announcing the agreement Mr. Ghimire states that “it’s a win win situation for both parties”. With over five years of blogging under his belt, Mr. Ghimire was on the forefront of covering the subprime crisis and other hot topics in the home financing business.

Bank of America has recently been in the news with its announcement to help homeowners by forgiving portions of their mortgage. Ms. Stacy Johnson, VP of Digital Marketing at the bank stated that the bank wants to work with consumers on helping them keep their homes.

“We need a solid Web 2.0 channel to start building stronger relationships with borrowers in distress. We felt that the Arizona Mortgage Guru blog, with is strong history and wide readership would be a perfect fit for bringing this message out.” Said Ms. Johnson.

Industry analysts could not be reached for comment. However, Bank of America shares moved up 0.17 to 18.02, a 0.95% jump, in early morning trading.

Mr. Ghimire will stay on during the transition but has not immediate plans thereafter. “I guess I’ll move on and start another blog I guess. But I’ll sure miss blogging here at AMG.”

Luxury Custom Home Builder in Scottsdale, Arizona

It takes a special company to really understand luxury home construction. In the past few years as I’ve been involved within the real estate community in the Phoenix area I’ve had the opportunity to speak with a few luxury builders.  So far no one comes even remotely close to the quality offered by Casas del Oso, a custom luxury home builder in Scottsdale, Arizona.

A while back I had a chance to tour one of their homes and it is nothing short of amazing. The craftsmanship, care and passion poured into every single home they build is outstanding. Barry Smith, the man behind each home, has a keen sense for the romantic architecture of Spain, Italy & Mexico and he builds the homes to meet your lifestyle.

Since Casas del Oso is a designer and builder everything is overseen by Barry and his crew. This arrangement means that nothing gets missed – from the type of nails used to ensure authenticity to the details of project management – everything is managed to perfection. The client doesn’t have to worry about a single thing.

After the tour, Barry took me to his office and discussed all the details of the operation. I could just see the excitement and passion in his eyes as he showed me the pictures of the homes they’ve built and the plans for the new homes they would be building.  I never thought anyone could really be that passionate about home building but apparently I was wrong. Barry is very passionate about his work!

I walked away from the tour with a keen understanding that serving the client is at the heart of every home built by Casas del Oso. This company is not driven to making assumptions about what the client may want or telling them what they should want. They are all about making sure the home is truly customized to the clients expectations, desires and lifestyle. These homes are truly a work of art.

AMG is Almost Five, And I’m Still Here

Birthday Cake

This blog is approaching its five year anniversary on Feb 1st, 2010. As I think about the coming milestone I wanted to share with you some changes that have been occurring on the back end recently.

At one point I used to update this blog on a daily basis.  There was a time when I used to be on the cutting edge of breaking news, information and home financing tips. However, I’ve slowed down a bit over the past few years. For starters I haven’t been even been in the industry since 2008, so you can understand why I haven’t been around. Aimee has been the primary blogger and for all intent and purpose was the “Arizona Mortgage Guru”.  She’s fantastic as a blogger, broker and everything else. However, things have not worked as we had hoped. In fact I’ve already made a few changes around here if you haven’t already noticed.

The first big change is this blog is no longer Aimee’s. It is now back in my (Shailesh’s) hands. So, I guess you can call me the “Arizona Mortgage Guru” again (but you don’t have to if you don’t want to). There are a number of reasons for this but I really can’t go into the details here right now. If you really want to know lets have coffee and I can tell you in person.

The other change to this blog is that I am blogging as a mortgage commentator not  a mortgage professional or broker. Since I was in the mortgage industry for a while and have intimate knowledge of the industry I can still share a lot about the industry. In fact I continue to follow the changes and events in the industry so I have expertise that I can share. Most importantly though, for better or for worse, I’m not tied to the industry. Hence am able to voice my personal opinions and thoughts freely.

There are more changes coming. I will be sure to update you as I make them. In the mean time continue to use this blog as a resource for all your home financing needs.
